It never rains but it pours -- last Saturday evening JoAnne and I were in PetsMart when some people who were walking their dogs came in -- it was dark and they didn't really notice that they had been joined by a stray puppy on their walk because he is dark brindle with a white blaze on his chest and throat. They took him home but he immediately jumped their fence so they brought him in to PetsMart because they have a 17 yr old cat so they didn't want the puppy in the house but clearly he was not going to be contained in the yard -- all the shelters were closed and they couldn't find anyone to take him for the night. I knew Luna would throw a fit but I thought he was young enough that maybe she would accept him. I tried Brandy first -- that little girl is a PLAYER. Brady recognized a fellow player immediately and those two hit it off so well, they were charging up and down the hall. Brandy is about half the size of this pup and she pulled the same trick that she plays on Luna -- runs down the hall to the bedroom at the end of the hall, jumps on the bed, looks back to make sure the "chaser" is following her, then jumps off the other side of the bed, goes under the bed, jumps back up on the bed but comes up BEHIND the "chaser", bounces into the "chaser's" butt then jumps back off the bed racing down the hall. Unlike Luna, this pup followed Brandy under the bed and when he came out after her Brandy was waiting and p-o-u-n-c-e-d on that pup as he was scrambling up to his feet -- then Brandy pounded back down the hall with the pup hard on her heels. Believe it or not, this game can last for hours. Well - we listed a Found Dog report and hopefully the owners will be located. This pup knows Down and Sit -- although I don't think he has ever been walked on a leash because his leash manners are terrible. Well - we are a busy place right now. Luna is still throwing a fit every time she sees him. He is too bouncy for her -- he has a calm temperment but he is all over the board because he is a puppy. We'll see how this plays out...hopefully someone somewhere is looking for him.
